The Beginning of My Fitness Journey
I’ve been into working out and into sports and fitness almost my whole life. I grew up with a “jock mom”, a retired cowboy dad, and three athletic brothers. Needless to say, I was constantly surrounded by athletic people. My parents had me in swimming, tumbling, dance (tap & jazz), diving, karate, baseball with the boys, tennis, and more. I liked some sports and hated others, but if I started anything, I had to finish it.
When I was in middle school, my mom hired a personal trainer to help me with my workouts. He trained me three times a week and forced me to keep a food diary. Looking back, this was a critical point in my life, as it gave me the base for my future work ethic in diet and fitness.
This is all important for you to know, because my story is unique to me and your story is unique to you. You should try not to compare our stories because they could be vastly different. What you can do, is try to use my story and my experience to help you on your own journey. Some of it will apply to your life, some of it won’t. Some of it might work for you, and some of it won’t. But trial and error is how I learned a lot of what I know, and you will probably also experience some trial and error. Let’s just hope it’s less error than me! As always, feel free to email me at hello@thelawyermom.com if you have any questions at all!
